First Ukrainian Baptist Church has been established in the suburbs of great Seattle, in the state of Washington, in the summer of 1995. Forty-five individuals became members during the first official gathering of the church. In the following few months, about thirty more joined. Immediately church spun into motion of life; choir formed, children’s ministry in Sunday school began. Regular church services took place on Fridays and Sunday afternoons. Since the Ukrainian church did not own a church building, an American church building was rented. Believers of the local church were so welcoming, that the Ukrainians were able to use the church building as their own. Especially pleasant was Pastor John’s brotherly relation to the Ukrainian church.
The church developed and grew in number. These years marked a great flood of immigrants coming from Ukraine, as a result, the church grew bigger and bigger annually, and the church building became smaller and smaller. The Lord had His plan for the Seattle church. One of the pastors from an American Baptist church on 22nd street in the city of Auburn, proposed the Ukrainian believers an alternative; move to the building of his church building. FUBC members were thrilled to accept the invitation, and began gathering at the new location. Lord generously blessed the church, and new immigrants continued to join, thus it was only a few short years before the new building also became too small. Church leaders started to dwell on the idea of purchasing their own church building. The church started to collect finances, meanwhile switching to a bigger church location once more as the number of members continued to grow.
In 1999, a group of men from Ukrainian church along with Pastor Ivan Lychik, stumbled upon an unfinished building of a Lutheran church, which they eventually purchased and finished building.
In the spring of 2000, First Ukrainian Baptist Church stepped in the doors of their own church building at last, where services continue to happen until this day.
During the seventeen years of church existence, pastoral ministry was carried out by brother Ivan Lychik, Konstantin Kachmarchik, Igor Zaviryuha, with the help of other brothers and elders.
From the beginning of church establishment, four new churches were created from FUBC roots. The church has reached its largest number of members between the years of 2006 and 2007. During that period of time, the church held 640 members. Today, the number of members is totaling over 530. Regular part of church services are three choirs, brass band and string orchestra. Sunday school continues to develop in children’s ministry. Time from time, children’s choirs take part in the services. The Lord has blessed the church with a large amount of youth. Almost every summer, a group of youth visits Ukraine to organize and work in Christian Kids camps. Division of charity helps orphans and widows. Prayer group gives thanks and brings all church needs to our Lord in prayer. Women’s ministry services take place. Frequently, First Ukrainian Baptist church is visited by guests. The church has frequent communication with surrounding brotherly churches. For a number of years now, teaching in Bible Seminary take place, establishment of which is upheld by brothers of Borislavska Spiritual Seminary in Ukraine.
Currently, documents are in being processed for a new church building at a new location in the city of Federal Way. Until this day, the church is developing spiritually and actively works to build God’s heavenly kingdom.
We are committed to living out the values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to love God, love others, and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), who is infinitely perfect (Matthew 5:48), existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.
Genesis 1:1; 2:7; Exodus 3:14; 6:2-3; 15:11ff.; 20:1ff.; Leviticus 22:2; Deuteronomy 6:4; 32:6; 1 Chronicles 29:10; Psalm 19:1-3; Isaiah 43:3,15; 64:8; Jeremiah 10:10; 17:13; Matthew 6:9ff.; 7:11; 23:9; 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 4:24; 5:26; 14:6-13; 17:1-8; Acts 1:7; Romans 8:14-15; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 4:6; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 1:17; Hebrews 11:6; 12:9; 1 Peter 1:17; 1 John 5:7.
Jesus Christ is true God and true man (Philippians 2:6-11). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:36-38). He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust (I Peter 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice (Hebrews 2:9), and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Romans 5:9). He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures (Acts 2:23-24). He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest (Hebrews 8:1). He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace (Matthew 26:64).
The Holy Spirit is a divine person (John 14:15-18), sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower (John 16:13), and distribute spiritual gifts to believers according to His will (1 Cor 12:11). He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:7-11).
Bible, the Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice (II Peter 1:20-21, II Timothy 3:15-16).
Mankind, composed of male and female, was originally created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27). God also set up an intimate relationship between one male and one female called marriage (Gen 2:20-25).
Men fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:23), are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:20-23). The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment (Revelation 21:8); and that of the believer, is everlasting joy and bliss (Revelation 21:1-4).
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God (Titus 3:4-7).
It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly (I Thessalonians 5:23), being separated from sin and the world and fully decided to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service (Acts 1:8). This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion (Romans 6:1-4).
The Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23), which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Acts 2:41-47).
We believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ (John 1:16; Eph. 3:8) secures to such as believe in him is Justification (Acts 13:39; Isa. 3:11–12; Rom. 8:1); that Justification includes the pardon of sin (Rom. 5:9; Zech. 13:1; Matt. 9:6; Acts 10:43), and the promise of eternal life on principles of righteousness (Rom. 5:17; Titus 3:5–6; 1 Pet. 3:7; 1 John 2:25; Rom. 5:21); that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s blood (Rom. 4:4–5; 5:21; 6:23; Phil. 3:7–9); by virtue of which faith his perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us of God (Rom. 5:19; 3:24–26; 4:23–25; 1 John 2:12); that it brings us into a state of most blessed peace and favor with God, and secures every other blessing needful for time and eternity (Rom. 5:1–3, 11; 1 Cor. 1:30–31; Matt. 6:33; 1 Tim. 4:8).
We believe that Sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are made partakers of his holiness (1 Thess. 4:3; 5:23; 2 Cor. 7:1; 13:9; Eph. 1:4); that it is a progressive work (Prov. 4:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Heb. 6:1; 2 Pet. 1:5–8; Phil. 3:12–16); that it is begun in regeneration (John 2:29; Rom. 8:5; John 3:6; Phil. 1:9–11; Eph. 1:13–14); and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in the continual use of the appointed means – especially the word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer (Phil. 2:12–13; Eph. 4:11–12; 1 Pet. 2:2; 2 Pet. 3:18; 2 Cor. 13:5; Luke 11:35; 9:23; Matt. 26:41; Eph. 6:18; 4:30).
We believe that there shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life
(I Corinthians 15:20-23); for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment (John 5:28-29).
The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent (Hebrews 10:37) and will be personal and visible. This is the believer's blessed hope and is vital truth, which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service (Titus 2:11-14).
We believe that the Bible, the book of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments canonical – the Word of God, written by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and consists of 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament.
(John 17.17; Rome. 3.22)
We believe in the triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(1 John. 5,7; Life. 1.16, 3.22, 11.7, Isa. 6.8; 48.16; Matt. 3,16-17)

(Acts 5,3-4) namely omnipotence (Romans 15:19) omnivision (1 kor.2, 10) omnipresence (Ps. 138:7) holiness (Eph 4.30)

We believe that Jesus Christ created the Church.
(Matthew 16.18. Num. 1,26-27; Eph. 3,9-10; Rome. 14, 24-26).

We believe that water baptism by faith is keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ, the Church, the testimony of faith and obedience to the Lord, it is a solemn promise to God for a clear conscience. (Diyi. 2:38,41; 22.16. 1 Pet. 3.21)
We believe that the Lord’s Supper (communion) is a commandment of Jesus Christ as remembrance and proclamation of His suffering and death on the cross.
(1 Cor. 11,23-26; Matt. 26,26-28; Bow. 22,17-20)

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion
We believe in the Trinity, which is the doctrine that God is one, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are distinct and unified, co-existing in perfect harmony and working together to create and sustain the world. We recognize that since God is the Creator and the source of all life, He exists in three persons who are distinct yet united, understanding each other completely and working together to bring about His plans for humanity. We believe that the Trinity is an essential part of understanding God and His purpose for us. By embracing the Trinity, we can have a deeper relationship with the Lord and better understand His will for our lives.
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible, that it is the true and inspired word of God. We believe that the Bible is our standard for life, and its truth, integrity, and relevance is of utmost importance. The Bible is not just a book, but a living guide, full of God’s wisdom and guidance. Through scripture, we learn about God’s character, how to live and act, and how to grow in our spiritual journey. We believe that by reading and studying the Bible, we are able to draw closer to God and deepen our understanding of His love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is the central figure of Christianity, the Word of God made flesh. Jesus was sent by God to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that we could enjoy an eternal life with Him. Jesus’ teachings on love, forgiveness, humility, and repentance are at the core of our beliefs. We also believe in Jesus’ resurrection, that it was proof of His deity and the promise of eternal life for all those who believe. We are called to follow Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to share the good news of the gospel. As we learn to love and serve others, we are reminded of Jesus’ example of love and sacrifice.
We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. The Bible teaches us that no matter what mistakes we make, God’s love and grace are always available to us. We believe that through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are able to have the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
We believe in the importance of baptism. Baptism symbolizes a believer's commitment to Jesus and His teachings, and is an outward act of confessing our faith in Him. We believe that baptism is essential to Christian discipleship, and it is a beautiful way to proclaim our allegiance to Jesus. Baptism is a sacred and meaningful experience, and we are deeply committed to helping believers celebrate this important milestone in their journey of faith. By celebrating and honoring baptism, we are proclaiming our faith in Jesus and our desire to serve Him and others.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the unifying power between God and humanity, and is the source of our comfort, guidance, and strength. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand and appreciate the Bible, and helps us to live out its teachings in our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit is with us always, faithfully guiding us in our walk with God. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts such as wisdom, knowledge, understanding, healing, miracles, tongues, and prophecy so that we can be used to serve God and spread His love.
We believe in the Christian doctrinal belief of The Church. We believe that the Church is a holy assembly of believers, united in faith and love. We strive to be a community of believers who are united in our faith in Jesus Christ and in our commitment to serve Him and His kingdom. We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another. We believe that the Church is a body of believers who are called to serve and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus and to follow His teachings. We strive to live out our faith through loving actions and service to our community and the world.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. When we pray, we open ourselves up to God and He will answer us in His own way and in His own time. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and to seek His love and guidance.
